January 21, 2026

Empowering New York’s Catholic High School Students

In recent years, the Cabrini Mission Foundation launched an annual tuition scholarship program to support New York City high school students attending Catholic schools. While the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus no longer sponsor a school in New York, this program was created to ensure that Mother Cabrini’s enduring legacy of educating the heart remains alive and well.

Cabrini Mission Foundation Was Up to Snow Good at the Annual Spirit of Christmas Event

December 18, 2025

It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Hill Country Barbecue as snowflakes and snow-covered decor covered the space at Cabrini Mission Foundation’s annual Spirit of Christmas event. Twinkling lights, comfort food, and togetherness embodied the cozy feel of a Hallmark, country Christmas.

The winter wonderland-themed event sparked excitement as guests enjoyed many southern staples including short ribs, pulled pork, and most importantly a childhood-favorite… mac and cheese. Raffle prizes got everyone feeling un-burr-lievably lucky, and the Christmas themed-cocktails doubled the holiday spirit.

A Lifeline of Faith and Food: We are proud to partner with the Cabrini Immigrant Services Food Pantry

November 11, 2025

In the pre-dawn chill of an Upper Manhattan morning, lines begin forming outside neighborhood churches long before the doors open. Parents with children, seniors with shopping carts, and workers between shifts all wait — not for worship, but for food. As the New York Times recently reported, nearly 600 food pantries operate across New York City, and about 90 percent are connected to houses of worship. They have become sanctuaries not just for the spirit, but for survival.

But thanks to the Cabrini Mission Foundation, the Community of Sant’Egidio is reweaving a fabric of society, person by person, starting from the most marginalized, the most neglected, those living on the streets.

More than just a fundraiser, our Gala feels like a reunion—a chance to celebrate community, reconnect with friends, and honor those whose lives and service embody Mother Cabrini’s mission.

This year, we were proud to recognize three honorees whose faith, generosity, and dedication inspire us all: His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Felix and Francesca Avitabile (posthumously), and Vincent Iannelli.
