Another Home Run! Cabrini Mission Foundation Celebrates 2nd Annual Baseball Fundraiser
It was all laughs and cheers as Sisters, staff, and friends celebrated the 2nd Annual Cabrini Mission Foundation Baseball Fundraiser held at the Staten Island FerryHawks Stadium on Saturday, August 5th. The money raised during the event will be used towards a multitude of programs that support educational and healthcare services for underprivileged families.
Attendees enjoyed, food, snacks, and most importantly ice-cold beer, from the comfort of two luxury box suites that overlooked the lush field and excited fans below.

The arrival of Holy Week draws in a time of introspection that forces us to look inward, using Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection as a means to overcome hardships. The death and rebirth of Jesus parallels the human experience: we are thrown difficult experiences throughout our lifetime that reshape our identity and change the way we overcome challenges. This symbolic ‘death’ of thought or belief can positively impact how we adapt to change. If Jesus has taught us anything, it is that when faced with adversity, we must exhibit strength and courage; it is ingrained in our Catholic faith.

As the patron saint of immigrants, Mother Cabrini inspires us to open our hearts to everyone, especially those who are on the margins of society. Taking these teaching and applying them to our own lives doesn’t always mean being on the front lines helping immigrants as they arrive to the United States, but it is finding other ways to help that are just as, if not more, significant.
