Threads of Grace: Cabrini Mission Foundation Celebrates 2026 Gala

November 2, 2026

The Cabrini Mission Foundation Gala is more than an annual event, it’s an opportunity to join in community and celebrate the unwavering love of our faith and the Cabrinian spirit. Together, we weave dignity and hope into the work we do and the ways we show up for others in the world. This year’s theme, Threads of Grace, exemplifies this notion: that like individual threads, we all come together to create a tapestry of love, faith, kindness and generosity.

The Foundation honored Sr. Diane Olmstead, Msc., E. Craig Suhrbier and Siobhan Fallon Hogan. Through their faith, leadership, generosity, and commitment to serving others, each has contributed a unique and meaningful thread to the mission of the Cabrini Mission Foundation. Their stories remind us that grace takes many forms, but its impact is strongest when we use our gifts to uplift others.

The Cabrini Mission Foundation Gala 2026 Honorees:

Sr. Diane Olmnstead, Msc. grew up in a faith-filled family, where her early experiences and education helped shape her spiritual journey. Her call to religious life began during a high school vocation day and deepened after hearing Mother Teresa speak while attending Fairfield University. Although she initially explored a vocation with the Missionaries of Charity, her path eventually led her to the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Along the way, she earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing, bringing together her faith, education, and passion for serving others.

Now in her 46th year of religious life, Sr. Diane has dedicated herself to serving God’s people across New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Guatemala. Throughout her ministry, she has served on Provincial Councils, worked in vocation ministry, and ministered in parish settings. Most recently, she served for nine years as Provincial Superior of the Guadalupe Province, offering leadership, guidance, and support to her fellow Sisters and the communities they serve. Her journey reflects a lifelong commitment to faith, service, and following God’s call.

E. Craig Suhrbier’s connection to the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus began in his childhood in Seattle, where he often explored the grounds of Sacred Heart Villa and helped carry groceries to the Sisters. These early encounters blossomed into a lasting relationship, eventually bringing Craig’s professional expertise in real estate and property management into service of the Sisters’ mission. He helped manage Cabrini Medical Tower and contributed to the redevelopment of the former Cabrini Columbus Hospital property into senior housing.

In 1998, Craig joined the newly established Cabrini Mission Foundation board, beginning a commitment that has spanned nearly three decades. He has guided the Foundation through its early years and seasons of growth, served as Board Chair, and provided steadfast leadership and wisdom. Craig’s journey reflects the spirit of Threads of Grace, demonstrating how small acts of kindness can grow into a lifelong commitment to faith, generosity, and service. His enduring dedication has helped strengthen the Foundation and advance its mission of serving those in need.

Siobhan Fallon Hogan is an accomplished actress, comedian, writer, and producer known for roles in Saturday Night Live, Seinfeld, Forrest Gump, and Men in Black. Beyond her successful career, she is recognized for her commitment to her Catholic faith and her willingness to uphold her beliefs, even when it means turning down professional opportunities. Through her EWTN podcast, Catholics and Cappuccinos, she brings Catholic actors and artists together to share meaningful and often humorous conversations about faith and vocation.

Siobhan’s talent, authenticity, and dedication to living her faith publicly reflect the values of the Cabrini Mission Foundation. She demonstrates how our gifts can serve a purpose beyond personal success, inspiring others and strengthening connections through shared faith. Her example reminds us that we can bring our values into every aspect of our lives and use our talents to encourage others, build community, and make a meaningful difference in the world.
