There’s something special about baseball that can bring people together. On June 20, the Cabrini Mission Foundation hosted its annual Let’s Play Ball fundraiser, held this year for the first time in the Bronx at Yankees Stadium.
This year’s event was filled with excitement and memorable firsts. For many of the Missionary Sisters, it was their first visit to the iconic ballpark, making the day even more meaningful. Supporters, friends, and Sisters gathered in a spirit of joy and fellowship, celebrating not only America’s pastime but also the mission of Mother Cabrini.
With hot dogs, warm pretzels, cold drinks, and the energy of a Saturday afternoon game, attendees enjoyed all the traditions that make baseball so beloved. A few home runs, spirited fan chants, and plenty of laughter made for a perfect day at the stadium.
More than just a fundraiser, Day at the Ballpark was a reminder of the power of community. Much like baseball itself—a sport where individuals work together for the good of the team—the Foundation’s mission depends on people coming together to support those most in need. Every act of generosity strengthens our ability to carry forward the charism of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini: to heal, teach, and care for the most vulnerable.
It was a winning day in every sense—and one that reminded us all that when we work together, great things are possible.
