It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Hill Country Barbecue as snowflakes and snow-covered decor covered the space at Cabrini Mission Foundation’s annual Spirit of Christmas event. Twinkling lights, comfort food, and togetherness embodied the cozy feel of a Hallmark, country Christmas.
The winter wonderland-themed event sparked excitement as guests enjoyed many southern staples including short ribs, pulled pork, and most importantly a childhood-favorite… mac and cheese. Raffle prizes got everyone feeling un-burr-lievably lucky, and the Christmas themed-cocktails doubled the holiday spirit.
In addition to being a fundraising event, it is also an opportunity to be part of something bigger; it reminds us of the importance of Christmas. Gifts and food make the holiday fun, but it is the birth of Jesus that reminds us of the joy, love, and hope he brings to our lives. It is this sentiment that makes this time of year so special. Not only because we spend time with the ones we love most, but that His birth has given us the opportunity to do so; to reflect on what is most important and bring that into the new year.
The Sisters and Foundation staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and participated in our event. It is your generosity that helps us to continue Mother Cabrini’s mission to helping those who are in most need of our support.
